Mission Accomplished!

Here’s an update that has me feeling fantastic and extremely motivated! While in the rehab hospital I set a personal goal to attend and participate in our National Sales Meeting. I was honored to choose our MMS charity this year and I chose the Colon Cancer Alliance; a truly fantastic organization. The participation part was me giving a speech, letting everyone know a bit of my story and educating them on the CCA charity.

We walked to the podium and after thanking Rick Giometti I introduced my wife Mary and we received what seemed like a 5 minute standing ovation from About 500 people … talk about humbling…. I was blown away. I gave my short speech, letting people know that through their generous donations we can take my tragic situation and help hundreds if not thousands of people avoid or prevent having to face my challenges. We’ve already impacted 12 lives, three of whom had pre-cancerous pollups. We are making a difference!

Upon returning to our table there was  a recieving line of nearly 100 people that just wanted a hug and to share their love and support. There were many tears, tons of love and support shared in these precious moments. “I cannot tell you how uplifting this was. I’m still riding a high from your outpouring of love and support. Here are just a few pics of the “hug-fest”.

After the speech, dinner, and the awards presentations we went two ballrooms down to the after hours party. This is a legacy and tradition I started about 12 years ago and our executive management team has adopted this as a regular agenda item at almost every meeting. It is a team building event that pulls people together in fun way.

For those that know me well, know that I love to dance. However given the fact that I was released from a month in the hospital only two days prior to the NSM, I assumed dancing would not be on the agenda. Wrong! As soon as I saw the dance floor and heard the music I was out there busting some moves. I’m certain this was some kind of divine intervention because I danced about 4 or 5 songs….truly a highlight for me. Rick Giometti announced a tribute song dedicated to Mary and I. It was a slow song and everyone cleared the dance floor. Midway through the song, more tha 50 people held hands and created a circle of love round us. A truly loving symbol of support.

In closing I must also point out that we went from an opening amount of $2,350 in donations to an encouraging amount of $18,230 as of this morning. We’ve also had a request from the operations team of 757 people who also want to support the Colon Cancer Alliance. This organization spends 84% of all donations on research, education and awareness. If you can find a small way to support this great cause, you will bring joy to my heart and you’ll be helping make a difference in so many peoples lives.

I thank each and every person at our NSM, and everyone who has shared a prayer or words of support and encouragement.

As always, with love, hope and prayers,

Sincerely yours,

Kevin Harless
