Round 2 …. Done!

Well, I finished my second full round of chemo this week; making it 2 down with 10 more to go! The actual chemo days seem to go pretty well. This week we added a third day (1.5hrs) to include Avastin, another Med designed to restrict the production or creation of new blood cells that could feed new cancer cells. In the coming weeks we’ll taper this back to 30 min sessions and I’ll just add it to day two.

I also wanted to share a pic of Deb, my favorite Nurse at Palo Verde Oncology. She is truly an angel, making me feel so comfortable, answering every question and taking care of every little detail. She’s been doing this for 37 years and her passion, caring and love for what she does shines thru her like an angel.

This week came with another welcome change…. We finally removed the Drain Tube that’s been in since July 18th…. Whoo Hooo…. One less contraption to worry about, work around or try to sleep with. Ahhhh!

On the friends and family front, I continue to be blessed with literally hundreds of calls, texts, FB messages and responses to this blog! I wish I could bottle the power, energy and positivity this provides… It is truly amazing! This week I received two somewhat random late evening calls from two groups of coworkers on opposite ends of the country; both groups gathering for work but taking time to raise a roast on my behalf and calling me to bring much needed laughter! I miss you all and love you for this!

Ok… Bringing this to a close. On the medical front, nothing new planned for next few sessions. For those who haven’t had a Colonoscopy, please, please do this now. Schedule it today! On the home front, it’s finally cooling off a bit and I’m working toward finding some normalcy in doing “regular stuff.”

And most importantly….. Thank you all for your continued support… It means so much I can’t put it into words… (Smiles, yes… Words, no).

With Love, Hope and Prayers,

Love, Kevin

  2. Woohoo Uncle Kevin!!!! I am so proud of you and your upbeat positivity through all of this. When you are done kicking this things butt I propose you come out to corpus and we go on a guided fishing tour with Destinees step dad (who is a professional guide) and catch some big red fish and maybe go giggin for some flounder :))) I love you with all of my heart and we are sending big prayers and support from Texas!!!

  3. Kevin, greatly appreciate your comments about following the Doctors advice on colonoscopies. The procedure is one of those that you are sedated to where you remember and feel nothing. The worst part about the whole deal to the anticipation. Heck drinking the gallons of prep isn’t that bad.

So glad to know your progress,

    Thinking and praying for you.
