Didn’t make Round 6 – OUCH!!!

image

Well friends and family, this week brought a number of twists and turns that are complicating my program…. And for those that know me, know I don’t like complications to my programs…ha ha

I wish  I could find words of wisdom to share and inspire this week, but I’m falling short there. So instead I turn to the constant prayers and words of  encouragement I’ve received from all of you. Dave  Bryson and Matt Covert have been my Rocks….sharing  the same journey together and encouraging me the whole way! As always my family is unrelenting in their support and faith. I also received  a beautiful, hand made prayer shall from our dear friends The Bono Family.

This week provided many challenges. A week ago Saturday I couldn’t swallow and was extremely fatigued. I checked into Thunderbird ER on Sunday thinking I may have  pneumonia. They treated me and released me on Thursday with antibiotics that didn’t really work. I returned to the ER on Friday and I’m still here.

We did a CT scan of my lungs and an aspirated endoscopy and found particles in my left lung. They ran cultures and found Ecoli in the lungs. I’m currently on every Med known to man and hoping something works soon.

It looks like I’ll be here for a few more days, but I feel confident in my equipment and a great nursing staff that helped break up the boredom with some fun.

In closing out today, I did finally get some pt, although it was limited It was encouraging. Seek whatever small miracles God will provide and hold tight in your belief that miracles through the grace of God are real.

With Love, Hope and Faith!

I love you all.

Kevin

  1. YOU are MY rock, uncle Kev! Every ounce of extra strength I possess goes out to you every day. All day. My thoughts are with you and my prayers are for you. I love you! Can’t wait to see you again! Here’s a good one from Sugar Ray:
“People can do more than they ever believe they can do. Physically, mentally… You have to be pushed. It hurts. But it’s worth it…”
    You got this, Godfather!!!

  2. wow, Kevin. That is a LOT of bags hanging on that IV pole! Good thing the smart pump vendor is built for multiple modalities. Almost sounds like I could sell for them, doesn’t it? 🙂 I continue to keep you in my prayers each day. I’m happy to see your smiling face in these photos. I am a firm believer that approaching the day with a smile provides a mental edge in the day’s fight. Keep strong, Kevin. We love you and continue to support you from afar! (kiss kiss!)

  3. Hey Kev – thinking about you. Twists and turns are only good on real roller coasters.

Will miss your orange shoes at the NSTM this year. There will be plenty of pics to share.

    Push on my friend.
