Powering Up!

I wanted to share the latest update with all of you to let you know that while I had a big setback, I am now at Health South Rehab Hospital working very hard to regain my strength and endurance. I’m working as hard as I can so I can attend our National Sales Meeting in November.

I’m doing 3 hrs of PT every day. This facility is absolutely amazing. The staff and clinicians here are truly fantastic. In all my travels calling on as many as 600 hospitals in the west I’ve never seen anything close to this level of care.

In addition to the care I’m receiving here, Banner Thunderbird did a great job of getting me to the point where I can start my rehab. I also took great comfort knowing Alaris was protecting me at all times. Below is a picture of medication they administered via Alaris. Of course I had to educate all Nursing and Administrators on the benefits of Cerner, Alaris interoperability and how it will improve safety, efficiency and billing for ED, Obs, and out patient areas. Of course they all loved the idea and said they wanted in on the BannerHealth pilot program.

In wrapping this up I have to share a tremendous honor that our Medication Management Solutions business unit has bestowed upon me. This year they have asked me to choose our charity. I have chosen the Colon Cancer Alliance. They are among the top five Cancer Charities in the U.S.A. and they are one of the leading research and education, awareness programs in the country. Additionally only 16% of their funding goes toward management fees, leaving 84% of all funds to go directly to the cause.

In this honor, I am truly blessed to be able to turn my situation into something very positive that may help hundreds if not thousands of people through research and education. I’m hoping our team will continue the tremendous generosity and caring that you have shown me throughout this process in support of this extremely worthy cause.

In closing, I must say that all of your thoughts, prayers, generosity and  well wishes are extremely uplifting and you continue to provide me with the motivation and optimism I need to fight and WIN this battle.

With love, hope and prayers, I sincerely thank you all.

Kevin
