Update on dejavu

To family friends and loved ones, thank you for sharing your love and concerns over my recent return to BTMC hospital. 3 days in and I’m making progress, the blockage appears to be the result of Imodium and pain medication causing things to back up severely. As Richard shared there was a slim chance of this being a repeat of last July with far worse outcomes. So far all indications are leaning to a much less dire situation. Thank God for this.

I have for some reason found it necessary to have these little (or big) emergencies just in time to coincide with and basically ruin or miss every major holiday or family event for the past year: I guess it only fitting that I miss my own Fathers Day and unfortunately that of my son Jeremy’s first Father’s Day.

As I think about Fathers Day, I think about my “fathers” and what an incredible influence they had on me. Yes, I was fortunate enough to have two Fathers; one who raised me like his own ” Glen” and one whom I reconnected with in 2005 ” Bruce”. I am deeply saddened that Bruce passed in May and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him terribly. I pray for Glen daily and hope his health holds for a long, long time.

As I share these thoughts with you, and especially the Fathers or future fathers, I can’t help but wonder how many could avoid my plight of missing all those family occasions if you would only get a colonoscopy. For those who have done so at my urging, thank you! For those who’ve not yet made the decision, please do….. for the sake of your family.

With love, hope and prayers

Happy Fathers Day

Kevin

  1. Hi Kevin, I am hoping and praying for you. Your Dad Bruce was my favorite Uncle. Sad that he is gone. Remember Jay and I met you there in Arizona before you and Jay were diagnosed with Colen Cancer. Jay has had 10 cycles of chemo. He is managing okay, he will be doing chemo until it stops working. You have had a rough road, I hope you can continue to defy the odds. Life is short, love to the max!
